All cutscenes are skippable by holding B + Start All items and money are lost on death, and most Dungeons quick save at the start as an anti-cheat measure. The proper use and management of items is crucial to your survival. Items are much more important, playing an equal role to moves. Regen speed is much higher, and enemy spawnrates are slightly slower. Every enemy plays a distinct role in Dungeons, and every encounter holds a lot more weight Recruitment is disabled except for certain exceptions While the hack does get much more difficult than the base game, it's not exactly a "kaizo" hack either, just a different design approach. The primary inspirations behind the changes are Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon(2015) and Mystery Dungeon 2: Shiren the Wanderer(1995), though it also borrows ideas from various other titles. Pokéwanderer is a "gameplay overhaul" hack based on various entries in Chunsoft's "Mystery Dungeon" franchise. Title art has been slightly altered to make the artist's watermark legible.Added descriptions to the NPC Tag debug items to confuse players a tad bit less.Added hurt and pinch dialogue for Amethyst.Fixed the description for a specific TM still reading as if it teaches U-Turn when it doesn't.Amethyst's unusable Rock Smash attack has been replaced with Helping Hand. ![]() The title screen has received a brand new art piece, created by BlueToDraw.Special Thanks to BlueToDraw for the incredible Title Screen artwork. ![]() Special thanks to AuraXalaiv for helping me write dialogue for one character in the overworld portion. Thus, the idea for A Starless Night was born. Additionally, Hack Jam 5 just so happened to be starting soon after the end of MysteryMail. Though he was originally written as a one-off character I created solely because I was interested in what others would do with him, I soon fell in love with the character. Nova first appeared in Broken Chaos, the third installment of the MysteryMail series, though under the moniker of Fugitive Birb. This hack contains two dungeons, one of which is a puzzle dungeon composed entirely of fixed rooms. In A Starless Night, you follow Nova the Starly as he recollects the events leading up to his incarceration, as well as Nova and his guardian's daily struggle to put food on the table.
